Arm & Thigh Lift Surgery
About
Arm and thigh lift surgery are procedures in which excess skin and fat are removed in order to tighten the skin and improve the contour. The combined effects of aging, gravity, fluctuations in weight, and a loss of skin elasticity all contribute to loss of tone in the thighs and arms as we age.
Procedure
During the procedure excess skin and fat are removed through incisions on the thigh and/or arm. The underlying tissue matrix will be reshaped and tightened, and skin will be reduced and re-draped resulting in more proportionate and smoother body contour. The incision line is sutured with dissolving stitches and surgical tapes are then applied to the surface of the skin. A pressure garment is then fitted around the thighs in order to apply some compression and reduce any swelling and bleeding.
The operation is usually performed under general anaesthetic, and can take up to 2 hours to complete.
