Liposuction surgery also known as ‘fat removal’ surgery is a procedure in which areas of fat are removed in order to reshape particular areas of the body. Sometimes even after losing weight eating healthy and exercising regularly you can be left with stubborn areas of fat that may become impossible to shift. These areas can be removed with liposuction surgery. Liposuction could be combined with other body contouring procedures.
Procedure
Your surgeon will make small incisions in the areas being treated. A suction tube attached to a specialised vacuum machine is then inserted; this is moved within the fatty tissue to suck out the fat and fluid. The procedure is performed under either a general anaesthetic or local anaesthetic; it is often performed as a day case and usually takes 1-2 hours to complete.
